rhi: Blooming lilac, "25th of May. How do they rise up?" Reference to Pratchett's Night Watch (Discworld 25th May)
[personal profile] rhi
The flowers not having died yet, and in fact flowering happily away (except for one azalea that's alive, but not flowering; too much shade?), I'm now off to plant more azaleas on the west side of the house, some impatiens under the deciduous magnolia (yes, really, I had no idea they existed either!), and two lilacs between the azaleas to eventually be a green curtain for a badly thought out bathroom window.

But it's May, and I'm planting lilac -- the icon was just about a moral imperative.

You must have been warned against letting the golden hours slip by ... some of them are golden only because we let them slip by. - James Matthew Barrie,

Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who only dream by night. - Edgar Allen Poe

I often warn people: Somewhere along the way, someone is going to tell you, 'There is no "I" in team.' What you should tell them is, 'Maybe not. But there is an "I" in independence, individuality and integrity.' - George Carlin
